Nigerian multiple award-winning songwriter and singer, Davido donates two hundred and fifty million naira to orphanages across Nigeria.
Three days ago, Davido called on his friends and colleagues to send him money in celebration of his birthday.
Davido’s request was well received by friends and colleagues. And in less than two days, he received over 200,000,000.00 Naira from friends and colleagues.
In a communique released a while ago by Davido, he stated that all the funds received, totaling 200,000,000.00 Naira, will be donated to orphanages across Nigeria. He added that he will be making a personal donation of 50,000,000.00 Naira, bringing the total amount to 250,000,000.00 Naira.

He establishes a five-member disbursement committee to oversee the distribution of funds to the beneficiaries. The committee members include;
- Mrs. Titi Adebayo – Chair of the committee.
- Professor Jonathan Nwosu – secretary to the committee
- Professor Yahana Joel Asabe of the Northern Nigerian Seventh Day Adventist Church
- Pastor (Dr) Oyalabu of the Spring Time Development Foundation
- Professor Oloma Onuoha
He also stated that he would the doing fundraising every year to celebrate his birthday and give back to people in need.
