According to eye witnesses, the fire started around 7:55pm on Sunday, 30th January, 2022. Preliminary investigations revealed that the fire was caused by a “wick lamp” she left in her bedroom before leaving to the kitchen.

She didn’t know her house was on fire. It was a guy going to watch football watch at his friend’s place that saw the fire and blowed alarm.

At that time, the fire was already high so we could not pick anything from the room. But we managed to quench the fire. We also made sure it didn’t move to the nearby houses” said one eye witness

Yesterday, it was very terrible we just have to thank God and our hardworking women and men. The women did extremely well by fetching water persistently which was used by our hardworking men to quench the fire. Glory be God” said another eye witness.
