Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda, professionally known as MzVee is a Ghanaian singer, afro-pop, dancehall, and R&B artist. She was born in Accra, Ghana, on June 23, 1992, to Ernest and Florence Hamenoo-Kpeda.
She is the third born among her three siblings. She has two elder sisters and a younger brother. MzVee attended St. Martin de Porres School, St. Mary’s Girls’ Senior High School, and Ghana Telecom University, where she studied Business Administration.
MzVee Musical Career
MzVee started her musical career in 2012, when she joined a girl band that recorded popular hits like “Good Girls Gone Bad” and “Gyani Gyani”. They eventually separated in 2013 to pursue their education.
She then began her solo career in 2014, releasing her debut track “Bokor Bokor” with VIP, followed by her hit single “Natural Girl,” and winning the Ghana Music Awards’ Unsung Artist of the Year award. In November 2014, she released her debut album, which featured Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, VIP, and Didier Awadi.
MzVee released her second album, “Verified,” in 2015. Her track “Aborfra” featuring Efya has been nominated for album of the year and record of the year at the Ghana Music Awards. In 2017, she released her much-anticipated third album, “Daavi.
MzVee was nominated for the BET Awards 2016 – Best International Act: Africa category, on May 20, 2016. She was also nominated for the MTV Africa Music Awards in the Best Female category in October 2016.
In 2019, MzVee parted ways with her record label, Lynx Entertainment. After, that she released her 4th studio album dubbed “Invincible” in 2020 which featured Sarkodie, Strongman, Kojo Funds, and Navy Kenzo, among others.

MzVee is currently working on her 5th studio album and also planning the celebrate her 10th anniversary in the music industry. The name of her upcoming album is “1030”. The “10” represents her 10th anniversary in the music industry and the “30” represents her age.
