In April 1992, Jeff Hewson married Judy Crowell. Judy Crowell was also a host of QVC. Three months after the two hosts married, Jeff Hewson filed for a divorce. After the divorce, the two kept their jobs until November 1992 when Jeff decided to leave.
He later sold his story to the Enquirer about the reason why he left his job at QVC. According to him, he left his job because of his ex-wife, Judy Crowell.
Jeff Hewson, who was then 38 years, alleged that Judy started circulating false stories about him being gay and having a significant drinking problem as soon as they broke up.

He accused Judy of luring him to marry her just to get ahead. And that she married him because he was a star. “I feel she married me just to get ahead. Judy’s love for me was all an act. She went after me because I was a star. She got me to fall in love with her and marry her, thinking the publicity would make her a celebrity“.

On Saturday, October 23, 2010, former QVC host Jeffery Hewson experienced a severe stroke that made him paralyzed on his right side with extensive brain bleeding.
He was taken to a health facility in Mesa, Arizona, where he is been taken care of. Because of the extensive brain bleeding, it was first believed that he would not survive; nonetheless, he has overcome the odds and made significant progress.
