Ghana Police Service has arrested a man firing a firearm on new year’s eve.
The man who was captured on video was seen discharging a fire arm at A&C Mall, Accra on new year’s eve. The was believed to be firing the gun as a way of welcoming the new year.
The arrest was confirmed in a statement released by Ghana Police Service.

The statement reads; “A collaboration between the Police and the Military Police has led to the arrest of Fly. Sergeant Nicholas Owusu Frimpong in Connection with the discharge of a fire firearm at A&C Mall, East Legon, on Friday, December 31, 2021.
The suspect was arrested following Police investigation into the incident of a young man captured on video footage firing several shots of a firearm at A&C Mall purposely to welcome the New Year, 2022.
The suspect, Flt. Sergeant Owusu Nicholas Frimpong is currently detained by the Military Police whilst investigations continue.
As we continue to make merry for the new year, we want to urge the public to be guided in their celebrations and desist from acts that compromise public safety and order.”
