Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp went down globally on Monday for several hours. At about 15:30hrs GMT, Facebook and its sister apps started displaying error messages and later went down totally.
The outage lasted for close to five hours. Billions of people who use these apps for their businesses, chat with family and friends, shop online and others were unable to access them. The helpless users took to twitter to share their frustrations.
Facebook itself informed its users about the outage on their Twitter page
“We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing Facebook app. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience”.
