He was born on born May 19, 1941, in Long Beach, California, United States of America. Bobby was the second of Bill and Janie’s four children to be born in Long Beach, California.
Bill worked as a meat cutter, and Janie was a homemaker. When Bobby was three years old, Janie saw that he enjoyed dancing around the radio, and at age four, she enrolled him in dance lessons.

He was partnered with his first dance partner in kindergarten because of his talent for tap dancing. By the time he was 11 years old, he had appeared in roughly 75 television shows in the Los Angeles area.
Bobby and his friend, Barbara competed in Lawrence Welk’s hit Calcutta dance competition at the age of 19. They won top prizes with Bobby’s specifically crafted performance, which led to a guest appearance on the Welk program on national television in 1961.

Now, Bobby’s decades of dancing experience are available to Burgess Cotillion students. Additionally, he educates the elite high school group known as the Assembly in Palos Verdes, California, and runs cotillion sessions at three middle schools there.
